HBD and GMI Construction have reached the topping out stage at Birmingham’s £33m SETL scheme.

The development, which features 102 one- and two-bedroom apartments within the sought-after Jewellery Quarter, has now reached 12-storeys, which was marked by a topping out ceremony attended by HBD, GMI Construction and BPN Architects.

Residents will enjoy well-planted outdoor space and a roof-terrace, plus a hotel-style reception, gym and communal lounge and work-from-home areas.

SETL, which includes 2,350 sq. ft. of ground-floor commercial space on Ludgate Hill, will also become home to independent restaurants, leisure operators and other businesses to deliver essential amenities for residents.

“It’s great to have reached the topping out stage at SETL – it’s one of Birmingham’s most exciting new residential schemes and we look forward to seeing the final elements begin to take shape. So much care has gone into every aspect of the design, from the apartments to the amenities, always keeping residents’ experience front of mind. “With a rooftop garden and amazing views across the Jewellery Quarter and the city skyline, a dedicated work-from-home lounge and hotel-style reception areas, SETL will be one of the city’s most desirable places to live.”

Simon Raiye, Director at HBD

“It is great to see such a transformative project reach this milestone. Setl plays a huge part in the overall ongoing regeneration in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham and it’s fantastic that GMI gets to play a role in that. This brilliant project further strengthens GMI’s longstanding partnership and track-record of success with HBD across the North and Midlands. We’re looking forward to pressing on and delivering the rest of this striking new addition to the Birmingham City Skyline.”
