HBD has completed the newest building at Airport Business Park Southend (ABPS) following an impressive 26-week build programme.

The 27,588 sq. ft. building was purpose-built for CAMA AssetStore; a sustainability-focused storage and asset management facility specialising in the reuse of sets, props and costumes for film and TV. CAMA supports the film industry to reduce its production budgets and carbon impact, while investing in the circular economy. It will move in early next year following fit-out works.

Contractor Readie Construction delivered the building to a tight timeframe. Other parties involved with the project include Jefferson Sheard Architects, Anderson Green and BWB.

HBD is delivering Airport Business Park Southend in joint venture with Southend City Council, part of an ambitious vision for the city. The huge 60-acre development is quickly becoming one of Southend’s most successful business locations, with the likes of IPECO expanding further, taking a second bespoke unit at the development.

Airport Business Park benefits from an excellent location adjacent to Southend Airport and close to major motorway networks, which has driven strong interest from potential occupiers. There are ten development plots remaining, with space tailored for a wide range of businesses, from local SMEs through to global occupiers. The Launchpad, a dedicated building created to champion innovation for start-ups and SMEs, opened in Autumn 2022.

“It’s great to see CAMA’s new base complete, having been delivered within an ambitious 6-month programme. We look forward to working alongside CAMA as the fit-out is completed prior to occupation early next year. “CAMA joins a successful community of businesses now based at Airport Business Park and we’ve no doubt it will prove a successful location as it continues to grow.”

Adrian Schofield, Head of Region at HBD

“CAMA is pleased to have collaborated with HBD on this development which has delivered a high-quality building ahead of time, on budget and respecting our commitment to environmental sustainability. We see Airport Business Park Southend as both a great location for the business and an investment for the future.”
